Homeless Action Strike 07

This 4th strike was aimed at Mayor Larry O'Brien and his bid to treat the homeless like pigeons by criminalizing sleeping outside and begging. Previous actions resulted in a Task Force on Homelessness which shone a bright light on the systemic discrimination of the homeless that involved hideous stories of abuse and neglect by the city and police. The task force prompted progressive change in the way the homeless are treated. Luckily we were able to stop O'Brien in his backward tracks.

A Summer Well Spent

Sorry, I didn't have enough access to a computer this summer to keep a log. And I also fractured both of my wrists in a fall mid August so typing was also a challenge. Therefore, the most I was able to put together was the press releases over the summer. You can see the press releases on homelessactionstrike07.tripod.com

The final press release was accompanied by a letter to the new Chief of Police Vernon White which contains a statement of what we accomplished.
